Watch the animals receive special Valentine treats and heart-shaped items throughout the day as part of the zoo’s animal enrichment program.

10:15 a.m. – Primates, meerkats

10:30 a.m. – Golden lion tamarins, armadillo

10:45 a.m. – Amur leopards

11 a.m. – Outdoor waterfowl, cranes

11:15 a.m. – American bison, gray wolves

11:30 a.m. – Penguins

11:45 a.m. – Takin and markhor

Noon – Amur tiger

12:30 p.m. – Red panda

12:45 p.m. – Snow leopard

1 p.m. – Andean bear

1:30 p.m. – Turkey vultures, contact barn

1:45 p.m. – River turtles

2 p.m. – Desert lizards, Irwin the iguana

2:30 p.m. – River otters

2:45 p.m. – Diversity of Birds, Mortoise the tortoise

3 p.m. – Giant Pacific octopus

Winter Break Adopt Special

$25 Junior Keeper packages include a mini animal plush, adopt certificate, animal fact sheet, animal photo, copy of MyZoo magazine and admission for 2 to Member Event 2020! A variety of animals are available to choose from, while supplies last. All proceeds to benefit the animals at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Available at the zoo’s membership desk.

The public is invited to watch as the animals at the zoo – from lemurs to elephants to otters to birds – enjoy heart-shaped ‘Valentines’ as part of the zoo’s enrichment program. Pick up a schedule at the zoo admission desk and make the rounds to see different animals receive their treats throughout the day!
