Events & Programs

at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is closed through April

Due to state and county public health directives in response to COVID-19, the Rosamond Gifford Zoo is temporarily closing until further notice.

All zoo events and education programs are cancelled through April. Anyone who has already purchased admission to a paid event or program will be contacted by zoo personnel to discuss your options.

Please follow us on FacebookTwitter and Instagram – and visit the zoo website, zoo events site and Catering at the Zoo website for updates.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation! We look forward to seeing you again once this crisis subsides. As soon as the county reopens our doors, we’ll be back with a full slate of fun activities and educational opportunities to have the best day ever at your zoo.

Most importantly, the County Executive is reminding members of the public to come together, stay calm and not let the anxiety of the situation win. People are reminded to wash their hands and exercise responsible social distancing.

Pic of the Month Contest!

Our Pic of the Month Contest for April is on! We've modified the rules in light of our social distancing situation. We invite you to submit your favorite photos from any visit to the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in the past year – favorite animal, zoo experience or family photo – by Sunday, May 3. We’ll announce a winner (or 2) on Tuesday, May 5. Enter for a chance to win a 12-inch plush animal and 2 free guest passes for when we reopen!

The Rosamond Gifford Zoo is excited to announce a new Pic of the Month contest to highlight our animals in all seasons, year-round! We invite the public to submit their photos (one per person per month) to our monthly contest.
